Mantis Sport returns to the Intercontinental Trophy Cup Racing Series in 2012 with plans for a fulltime effort after competing on a part-time basis during the inaugural season in 2011. Mantis Sport, owned and operated by racing driver Ernie Jakubowski, is the performance and competition arm of Mantis Automotive, a full service facility in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Mantis Sport prepares, builds and services performance and racing cars for its customers. Mantis Sport is a specialist in Porsche Cayman and Cayman S aluminum performance parts.
 
Mantis Sport has won several events in the National Auto Sport Association (NASA), including races part of the 2008 NASA Championships, and the 2008 National 944 Cup Championship. In 2009, behind Jakubowski, the team won the National 944 Cup title as well as crowns in the Great Lakes Region and Canada. Jakubowski also earned the SCCA World Challenge Rookie of the Year in 2009. Mantis Sport also has experience in various Porsche Club of America (PCA) competition. In ITC, Jakubowski will be the team’s lead driver.
